Lenin Kicking Against the Pricks is part of the series “Masked Balls,” which was initiated in 2002. The first work was a single ball covered with a mask of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, and was followed by works in different formats. This work features 11 soccer balls covered with masks of Lenin.
Geers refers to this work as a “nomadic sculpture” due to the potential displacement of the balls by the viewers, who can participate in the evolution of the work by kicking or moving them (we kindly ask you to resist the temptation).
