Temporary Relocation: The Bronner Residency
This is a group exhibition of twelve artists from Israel and Germany, graduates of the Bronner Residency program in recent years. The exhibition is presented thanks to a collaboration between the Dan and Cary Bronner Foundation; the Kunststiftung NRW – Arts Foundation of
North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany; The Goethe Institute,Israel; and the Artists’ Studios, Tel Aviv. The works featured are all new projects affected by the art-residency experience, created especially for the exhibition.

Gideon Rubin: Memory Goes As Far As This Morning
To a certain degree, Gideon Rubin has a sense of belonging and of having roots in the two places where he stayed as artist-in-residence. However, in both cases, the artist remains in his usual position: that of the outside observer. He thereby avoids the trap of becoming enchanted with
the image of the present that he is experiencing. His works arise out of his analysis of the mechanisms of nostalgia as mediated by newspaper and magazine images.

The Gift: JCVA Artists-in-Residence
The Jerusalem Center for the Visual Arts (JCVA) is an international artists-in-residence program that hosts distinguished and promising artists and curators for an uninterrupted period of creative work. Established in 1987 by Francis K. Lloyd through the Jerusalem Foundation, the
program’s first director was Yona Fischer. The residency promotes intercultural dialogue between its guests, art academies, and the local community. The current exhibition, curated by the program’s director since 2001, Nirith Nelson, features four projects by past JCVA artist in residence: Dale Berning Sawa, Daniel Chust Peters, Servet Kocyigit, and Marjetica Potrcˇ.
