In 1998, Almond began working on an ongoing series of landscape photographs titled Full Moon. These ghostly mysterious images of a full moon, which are each taken with an exposure time of 15 minutes or more, are bathed in brilliant light, so that night seems to have been turned into day. Many of Almond’s works are filmed in remote and often nearly inaccessible geographical locations such as the Arctic Circle, Siberia, the Holy Mountains in China or the source of the Nile.
