
Figures is a series of sculptures of “homeless” people scattered throughout the museum, standing, sitting or reclining, offering a silent comment about the state of Israeli society.
Shakine collects used clothes left on house fences for the homeless and the needy (once the latter have taken their pick). He squeezes these found clothes into one another, creating faceless or featureless human figures that convey a sense of detachment and loneliness.
