Necropolis, photography, 1996-2000

In Necropolis, Israeli burial cities are derelict military structures that become a kind of monument to Israeli history – in the past they were statues of heroism, and today they are forsaken and grotesque ruins.
In the Citrus series, the artist focuses on the disintegration of abandoned orchards and the degeneration of the living body – the tree, the orchard – which until recently was a clear symbol of the Zionist vision.
