Born in Israel, 1970

Full Moon, 2011, 4 photographs, inkjet print.

Uri Gershuni’s series Full Moon examines what happens in the absence of the sun – the most important source of light and energy that allows for the creation of photographs.

Gershuni is also fascinated by the origins of photography, and particularly by the 19th-century photographer Henry Fox Talbot, who made revolutionary discoveries in the field of photography in the 1830s and 1840s.
