In the museum’s kitchen, Leiderman grows kefir leaven (bacteria) in jars of milk. The kefir grains can grow and reproduce, therefore they can be seen as a kind of domestic animal, and be given names according to the accepted rules that apply to the names of purebred dogs or racehorses.
